David Armas

I am an Ecuadorian-American who has lived in Atlanta for the past 9 years. I am in the marketing and communications field and currently serve as the Advertising Specialist for Porsche Cars North America. My wife and I have lived on the Westside of Atlanta for the past year and reside in the friendly West Highlands neighborhood. I am passionate about branding and have truly enjoyed seeing how this part of town is shaping up and growing tremendously to become it’s own niche in the city. I enjoy cooking, making cocktails, and hosting friends and family. Community and socializing are big components of my life and I love meeting new people.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to my wife Allison for a little over two years. My immediate family (parents and brother) currently live in Atlanta after living in North-Central Florida for almost 15 years. Most of my extended family still resides in Ecuador.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am in the advertising and marketing world and currently work for Porsche, where I manage national print, out-of-home, and digital advertising. I also manage partnerships and fuel creativity into campaigns. Previously, I worked in the sports and entertainment field and worked as a designer and producer in experiential marketing. I would like to continue working for global brands and hope to eventually build an agency or creative studio.

One year

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
By moving into a new community, I have found my neighbors to be incredibly interesting and now consider them as close friends. Because we all moved into the neighborhood at the same time, we have truly bonded and shared many memories.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would do a Mediterranean tour and visit countries like Italy, Croatia, and Greece. I would love to learn about those cultures, enjoy the Mediterranean diet, and explore beautiful coastal landscapes.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my all-time favorite shows is Parks and Recreation but I have recently binged on New Girl.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Travel the world, learn languages, and seek to learn something new every day.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Visit the Egyptian pyramids.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
I enjoy diverse genres of music but my go-to is Latin music. A great dance beat never gets old.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would have lunch with Walt Disney and discuss his grand vision and learn about his creative development. I would walk the Beltline with him and enjoy some snacks and drinks at Ponce City Market.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I like how it’s still developing and the rise of shopping areas and new restaurants.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself raising children with my wife and owning my own creative agency.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I use Turmeric in many of my recipes.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I’ve been blessed to have visited many beautiful places but I once did a road trip throughout Spain and was blown away by the beautiful landscape and unique cities and towns.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
March- its my anniversary and birthday month. Christmas- it’s a joyous time to celebrate Jesus’ birth and time with family. 4th of July is one of my favorite days because of the nationalism and enthusiasm throughout the country.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A good Old Fashioned cocktail.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My wife Allison. She is always striving to become a better version of herself and is the most encouraging, faithful person I know.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Freshly cut grass and the smell of a new car.

Relaxation, Hosting, and Food.
